A two-day skills training mainly focusing on refereeing matches, rules and regulations of the game and basketball for Physical Education (PE) teachers, coaches, and regional sports coordinators, organised by Scholar Athletes for Change (SAC) Gambia, Friday ended at the Friendship hostel in Bakau. The training was part of SAC's 4th Annual Basketball Camp under the theme "Hazards of Life".
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Joe Jallow, director of SAC Gambia said they will look at the resolutions and recommendations adopted by participants with a view to see how possible they can be implemented. According to him, SAC is not concerned only about basketball but also other games.
Musa Mendy, a board member of SAC thanked Pierre Jallow, initiator of SAC for his patriotism, noting that his mind is always on The Gambia. He said he is grateful and urged Pierre to keep up the good work in trying to promote basketball in the country. He further urged the participants to apply the knowledge gained and also disseminate it to their colleagues who were unable to attend the training.
Participants were at the end of the training awarded with certificates of participation by SAC.
