The general public is hereby being notified that Friday, 10th August, 2012, has been declared as a public holiday.

In view of the fact that 10th August, 2012 marks the climax of the period of mourning and the day for the internment of Professor John Evans Atta Mills, the late President of the Republic of Ghana, and that most Ghanaians will be part of the burial ceremony to give him a befitting farewell, His Excellency the President has by Executive Instrument declared Friday, 10th August, 2012 as a public holiday and should be observed as such.
