Nigeria: Nasarawa to Collaborate With Austria to Promote Sports

The Nasarawa state government said it is set to collaborate with an Austria firm to promote sporting activities in the state, adding that, such moves will put the state on the template of sports development in the country and the world at large.

Governor Umar Tanko Al-Makura, who disclosed this while hosting a delegation from Austria, at government house Lafia, Friday, said such has also become necessary to provide job opportunity to the teaming youths and sport enthusiast in the state.

Almakura, who noted with nostalgia the importance of sports as uniting factor, pointed out that, "I am so happy to note that Basri is interested in collaborating with Nasarawa state government so that we can have a bilateral relationship build on trust to promote sports in Nasarawa state and indeed in Nigeria"

Earlier while stating their mission to the state, the leader of the delegation, Mr Mohammed Basri, who is the chief executive of Basri Sports Equipment, Austria, said "we are here to collaborate with your country and your state in particular, to promote sports."
