Nigeria: FG Builds N1.5 Billion Grain Silos in Bauchi

Bauchi — The Federal Government is building a N1.5 billion grain silos in Bauchi State under the National Food Reserve Program (NFRP). The leader of the team from the Presidency, Mr Ademola Adeyemi, while on an inspection tour of the project at Wailo village in Ganjuwa Local Government Area of the state, said the visit was to assess the level of work done so far and the level of acceptance of the project by the state government.

Responding, the state's Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Alhaji Tasi'u Mohammed' said the project would create job opportunities for youths, and expressed happiness with the quality of work done so far. Mohammed said of the total sum of the project, about 80 per cent of it has been paid, and that the remaining would be paid as soon as possible. He called on the host community to cooperate with the contractors for the successful execution of the project.

The contractor handling the project, Mallam Abdullahi Salisu, said when completed, the silos would have the capacity to store 25,000 metric tonnes of grains.

The team also visited the Agro input center in Dass and Wabu village.
