Angola: Campaign Begins Ahead of August Polls

The Broad Convergence for Angola's Salvation-Electoral Coalition (CASA-CE) inaugurated its electoral campaign on the State-run Rádio Nacional de Angola broadcasting station (RNA), calling on Angolans to vote in August 31 election of this year.

Abel Chivukuvuku, president of the organization, called for a conscious vote and proposes a model of Government based on competence and honesty in which those in power are just the temporary managers of the country's resources.

Meanwhile, the electoral campaign of the ruling MPLA party also began in the district of Viana, in Luanda, with the act being led by its president, José Eduardo dos Santos. The party's first secretary in Luanda, Bento Francisco Sebastião "Bento Bento", announced that the technical conditions for the start of MPLA electoral campaign under the topic "Angola growing and distributing better".
