Somalia: Ayr,Sub-Clan of the Habargidir Opposes How Abdi-Dahir Selected MPs in the Parliament

Mogadishu — After a meeting in Mogadishu, Somalia capital by the traditional elders, intellectuals, scholars, and prominent politicians from Ayr, sub-clan of the Habargidir opposed the selection of the MPs in the new parliament by Abdi-Dahir

While addressing at the gathering, elder Abdullah Khalif Rooble said the tribe has lost its authorized members in the upcoming new Somali parliament, after Abdi-Dahir has abused the will of the people ofAyr, sub-clan of the Habargidir.

Mr. Roble emphasized that Abdi-Dahir has close links with the Al Qaeda-affiliated Al shabab militants inSomalia, and he called upon the international community to be watchful about him.

"We will never allow our basic rights and will which are the assigned legislators in the parlaiment to be neglected by someone who doesn't represent the clan, theretofore we as Ayr sub-clan elders urge Somali government and the United Nations political office in Somalia (UNPOS) to get involved as soon as possible into the matter," said Imaam Abdullah Khalif Rooble during his speech at a conference in Mogadishu.

His his part, Mohamoud Ali Barre beter known as (Sheik-Daylaf), the peace-maker, told that Mr.Abdi-Dahir lost the legitimacy of his leadership of the clan and therefore he has been sacked from the power from today, Tue Aug 7, 2012.

"Agreed upon that Abdi-Dahir has committed corruption and misuse of power, after putting his pen fake MPs in the list that he says will represent forAyrin the next parliament not accordance with determination of our people," he added.

Finally, Abdullah Siad Abdi, another peace-maker said at the meeting that the names in the list of representatives have not been prepared by theAyr, warning disagreement and argument in the sub-clan if not resolved soon.
