Angolan Becomes PhD in Arboviruses in Lousiana

Houston — The Angolan veterinary Jaime Matias de Araujo Lobo became this week at Lousiana University, the first student to have a PhD in arbovirus, in the south zone of the United States of America, Angop has learnt.

On his work for post graduation title in veterinarian sciences in arbovirus area, by mosquito, Jaime Matias de Araújo Lobo spoke on the theme Koutango Virus, as a main agent of the virus in Western Africa, based on the sample of patients from Sierra Leone.

The Koutango virus was identified for the first time in Senegal, in 1968 and in the Central Africa Republic by the Pasteur laboratory in France.
