South Africa: Anti-Corruption Task Team Raids Auction Alliance Properties

Pretoria — The Anti-Corruption Task Team raided 13 properties owned by Auction Alliance across the country on Tuesday.

Hawks spokesperson Colonel McIntosh Polela said the raids came as part of investigations into allegations of corruption. The raids were conducted at five properties in the Western Cape, one in the Eastern Cape, one in Durban, five in Gauteng and another in Bloemfontein, he added.

"No arrests were made. It was a search and seizure operation to help in an on-going investigation," Polela said.

The Hawks, Special Investigating Unit, South African Revenue Service, National Treasury and the National Prosecuting Authority were all involved in the operation.
