Angola: Installation of Equipment in Vote Count Centres in Progress

Luanda — The installation of high technology equipment in the National and Provincial Vote Count Centres is already in progress, in the ambit of the general elections of 31 August 2012.

The information was given last Tuesday to the press by the spokeswoman of the National Electoral Commission (CNE), Júlia Ferreira, who assured that the mentioned centres will have equipment with a technology that is appropriate for the safety and transparency of electoral operations.

She also informed that the CNE has already started the registration and accreditation process of journalists, observers and other agents that will be working in the vote count centres.

According to data from the CNE, over 9.7 million citizens are on the register to vote on the last day of this month.
