Tunisia: SNJT Refuses Election of Press Regulation Authority By NCA

Tunis — The National Tunisian Journalists' Union (SNJT) expresses, Tuesday, its refusal of the election by the National Constituent Assembly of the Press Regulation Authority without the participation of the professionals.

SNJT reasserts attachment to the decree-laws 155, 116 and 41, calling to speed up publishing regulatory texts and the creation of the Audio-visual Regulation Authority.

The Union, which denounces the recent aggressions against the journalists requests the immediate implementation of article 14 of the decree-law N°115 asserting the protection of the journalists and criminilising their aggressors.
