Nigeria: SSS Bares Farouk Lawan From Oversea Trips

The operatives of the State Security Service Wednesday, barred suspended Chairman of the House of Representatives Ad Hoc Committee on Fuel Subsidy regime, Honourable Farouk Lawan from traveling out of the country.

Lawan, who is currently under investigation for allegedly collecting 500,000 dollars from Chairman, Zenon Petroleum, Femi Otedola, to doctor the report of the House ad hoc Committee, was scheduled to travel to Saudi Arabia to perform the lesser Hajj when he was stopped by operatives of the State Security Service at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

Reports say the decision to bar Hon Lawan from traveling stemmed from the fact that he might seize the opportunity to flee the country in order to avoid arrest and arraignment.
