With the world becoming a global village everyday through the spread of the internet, the Loko community including its members in the Diaspora has created a dialogue forum online where issues concerning the tribe and its constituency (32) in the Bombali district are discussed.
The forum named 'Kalangba Fambul' is a social media platform created by a young indigene from the constituency, Umaru Borbor Kamara, who currently works with the United Nations.
As one of the largest constituencies across the country, the area has so many issues including education, health, infrastructure, agriculture to cope with.
Though with the appellation Kalangba Fambul, the forum is not only limited to people from the township but from across all three other chiefdoms - Gbendembu Ngowahun, Magaimba Ndohahun and Lebaisegahun - which make up Constituency 32 in the Bombali district.
The purpose of the forum, according to Kamara, is to bring the Loko community together in order to chart the way forward for the effective and sustainable development of the constituency.
The forum currently has over two hundred members from within the constituency who discuss issues concerning the area on a daily basis.
The forum, according to its administrator, is open to all indigenes from the three chiefdoms and one must log into Facebook and then type Kalangba Fambul followed by a request for membership to be a member.
He called on well-meaning Lokos to be part of the ongoing discussions and contribute to the development of the constituency to achieve the desired goals for the area.
