The Democratic Alliance (DA) condemns the brutal murder of Mohammad Kazi in Magaliesburg. Reports indicate that Mr Kazi and his friend, Mr Anser Mahmood, were deliberately targeted for their race and religion.

This tragic murder must serve as a reminder to all South Africans that we all need to work together to create a South Africa free from hate and bigotry. Hate crime cannot be tolerated in our country, and we must all come together to find the perpetrators and see them brought to justice.

We call on the local police to use every resource available to bring those responsible for this despicable act to justice.

We send our deepest condolences to Mr Kazi's friends and family. Our thoughts and prayers will be with them in this difficult time.
