Photo: Issac Billy/UN Foreign Ministry Spokesman Amr Rushdi on Thursday 09/08/2012 said that Egypt welcomes Sudan and South Sudan agreement on fees of South Sudan oil exports through the Sudan's pipelines.
Rushdi noted that this agreement will contribute to the resumption of South Sudan oil exports through the Sudan's pipelines, territory and ports. He added that the agreement will also help improving the economic conditions in the two countries and paving the way for further progress on resolving the pending issues between them, including borders, citizenship as well as security and economic arrangements.
The spokesman also welcomed the progress achieved in the implementation of the roadmap adopted by the AU Peace and Security Council. He stressed that Egypt is ready to continue its support and assistance to the efforts of both sides, according to their needs in order to reach a lasting settlement for the pending issues, whether at the level of bilateral cooperation or as a member of the AU Peace and Security Council.
