Nigeria placed a decent fourth in the final of the women's 4x100mn which was won by Team USA in a new world record time of 40.82s on Friday evening.

Jamaica got the silver medal setting a new national record of 41.41s, while Ukraine also set a new national record of 42.04s in winning the bronze medal.

Although the Nigerian ladies failked to make a podium finish, considering the fact that they only squeezed through as the last fastest loser in 42.74s, finishing fourth best 4x100m relay team in the word is not bad.

In setting a record, the USA shaved .55s off the old record set by the former East Germany over 22 years ago.

Team Nigeria will feature in Saturday's 4x400m women's final.
