Nigeria: VP Sambo in Saudi Arabia for Umrah

Vice President Mohammed Namadi Sambo yesterday arrived the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform the Umrah (Lesser Hajj).

Sambo arrived Madinah one of the holy cities in the Kingdom early yesterday.

A press release by Alhaji Umar Sani, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) Media and Publicity to the Vice President revealed, "The Vice President and his delegation who prayed along side thousands of Muslim faithful at the Mosque of Prophet Muhammad in Madinah prayed for peace, unity and development in Nigeria.

"He also visited the holy sites of Masjid Quba and Mount Uhud."

The vice president will leave Madinah for the holy city of Makkah to perform the Umrah today.
