Rwanda/Mali: Tardy Left to Rue Missed Chances

While Junior Wasps coach Richard Tardy was reluctant to criticise his team for a hatful of missed chances in the first leg of the 2013 Africa Youth Championship second round qualifier, he believes that it had a big effect on his team's exit on Saturday.

Rwanda went into the contest needing a goalless draw to advance to the third round after a slight 2-1 advantage in the first leg but three unanswered second half goals for the hosts (Mali) ended the team's hopes of featuring in next year's event in Algeria.

"Mali was on top of their game in the second leg but I felt that we should have killed off the game in the first leg," he was quoted as saying.

"I'm not looking for excuses. I'm just trying to give answers to the questions."
