Gambia: Schools and Quality Education

The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education is in action, closing schools for low levels of quality and standards. The decision is of course fundamental because in the delivery of quality education, the best thing to do is to close down schools that have fallen short of the prescribed levels of standards until they are able to meet the required standards.

In fact, the issue of quality schooling is basic to national development. For achieving the national goal of education for all, universalising quality access, raising learning outcomes and reducing the gaps in education outcomes across must all be guaranteed by the state.
