President Mohamed Morsi will head for Saudi Arabia on Tuesday 14/8/2012 to take part in the Makkah-hosted Islamic summit. The summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation is to take place on Tuesday and Wednesday in the Muslim holy city of Makkah. Fifty-seven OIC member states will take part in the summit.
Morsi will address the summit in the capacity of Egypt as the coming president of the OIC and the host of the OIC summit next year. The speech will underline the importance of Egypt and its leading role in serving the Arab and Islamic causes.
OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu said the Islamic organization trusts that President Morsi and the Egyptian government will have a positive role in rendering the summit success and boost the OIC action in the humanitarian field.
He expressed belief that the coming summit in Egypt will be a good opportunity for President Morsi to meet presidents and kings of Islamic states and voiced his satisfaction with Egypt's return to practicing its leading role in serving Islamic causes.
Two meetings for the OIC foreign ministers were held on Monday.
