Treasury is today expected to announce the name of the company that will provide the Biometric Voter Registration kits at a cost of more than Sh3 billion.
It is understood that Treasury officials led by the Permanent Secretary Joseph Kinyua have been negotiating with the Canadians to acquire the kits as a loan and the Canadians have placed certain conditions if the deal is to proceed. The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has said it has nothing to do with the government-to-government deal that the government is pursuing.
