It was a night to remember for the local Christian community as visiting American gospel artiste Deitrick Haddon gave a mesmerising performance at a show held in the Harare Gardens over the weekend.
Despite using back tracks, Haddon put up a five-star performance that will linger in the memories of those who attended the show.
A number of foreign artistes have been giving local fans a raw deal. However, it was a different story as the celebrated American, who was in the country for the first time courtesy of His Presence Ministries International, proved that was well prepared for the show.
Haddon was supported by renowned gospel artistes who included Sabastian Magacha, Zimpraise Choir and Pastor G, who performed alongside the Celebration Choir, Towe Musakwa, Thembalani and His Presence Music Choir.
Magacha proved to be the crowd's favourite amongst the local acts.
The "Ridza Bhosvo" hitmaker gave fans value for their money with a thrilling performance.
Fans were calling Magacha to serenade them with "Ridza Bhosvo" but the artiste, instead, performed "Baba Gwenzi" before giving the fans what they wanted.
Magacha also performed "Satan Imbavha" from his latest offering with the help of a white lady, whom he picked from the crowd.
It was a moment to remember for the lady as she sang along to Magacha's lyrics.
According to the organisers of the show, the concert was aimed at reaching out to the youths.
His Presence Ministries International's Pastor Charles Chiriseri expressed his gratitude for the success of the event.
"First and foremost, I would like to thank the Almighty for allowing everything that we had planned to go according to plan.
"I was really excited with Haddon and our local artistes' performance and their unwavering support for this event which made it a successful one," said Chiri-seri.
"This is just the beginning as we have bigger plans in future where we want to reach out to young people through gospel music."
Deitrick Vaughn Haddon, who is famed for his contemporary style of gospel music, was born in 1973 and he is a man blessed with multiple talents - a singer, songwriter, and producer - all rolled into one.
Haddon launched his solo career as a Christian R&B vocalist in 2002.
Some of Haddon's songs include "Sinner's Prayer" which received heavy spins on gospel and mainstream R&B radio stations across the world, "God Is Good" and "Heaven Knows" among other songs.
Haddon proved to be an amazing and dynamic singer who appeals to both the young and old.
