Cargolux Airlines has announced the commencement of Boeing 747-800F daily flight operations in Nigeria.
The aircraft, with a capacity of 140,00kgs tons is said to be among one of the biggest cargo freighters in the world.
A statement from the airline said that Cargolux Airlines started operations in Nigeria almost a decade ago, with a Boeing 747-400F operating into New York, Luxembourg, Johannesburg, Lagos and the rest of the world.
The statement said that the General Sales Agent (GSA), of the airline, Merchant Express Cargo Airlines Ltd hinted that, the coming of Boeing 747-800F into the Nigerian market was timely, saying that importers, exporters and cargo agents would have the opportunity to benefit more from their services.
"Cargolux Airlines started operations almost a decade ago in Nigeria and since that time has operated a daily flight with a Boeing 747-400F. The introduction of Boeing 747-800F is to attend to the yearnings of the importers, exporters and cargo consolidators who are the primary consumers of the airlines services," the statement said.
