Juba — The Annual Presidential Ramadan breakfast for the year 2012 was organized by the office of the President on Wednesday 15th July, 2012 at Freedom Hall in Juba under the theme: "Our strength in our Unity". The occasion was presided over by the President of the Republic H.E. Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit, and was attended by the Vice President of the Republic Dr. Riek Machar, a number of National ministers, Diplomatic corps, Christian leaders and thousands of Muslims.
In his key remarks to the ceremony, the President of the Republic H.E Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit congratulated the Muslims of South Sudan and said " Ramadan Kerim to all the Muslims" and he asked God to accept prayers of the Muslims during the Holy month of Ramadan.
President Kiir assured to the whole world that the Republic of South Sudan has no religious differences, Christians and Muslims of the new Nation live in a Religious co-existence. President Kiir said leadership of the country in collaboration with the South Sudan Islamic Council will soon organize a direct flight for the Muslims to visit the Holy lands and Pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.
President Kiir said "The Republic of South Sudan has no rooms for a politicized Islam and other religions, leadership of the country will not allow anyone to use Islam for a political Agenda".
H.E Kiir announced that Oil production through Sudan will resume if Bashir accepted to sign the oil deal in Addis Ababa after Eid al- fitr al-Mobarak.
Dr. Riek the Vice President of the Republic described the Annual Presidential Ramadan Breakfast of 2012 as the first of its kind to be organized in the new nation of South Sudan, and the occasion has several meanings, among others are freedom of worship and expression. H.E VP added that organization of such kind of occasion proofs that leadership of the country takes care of its people.
