Ghana: Teachers Schooled on New Spousal Law

Ho — A legal practitioner and gender activist, Mrs. Hilary Gbedemah, says the time has come for the role of women in marriage to be recognised, as well as given the needed respect, because every successful marriage that led to acquisition of propertyought to be seen as the collective efforts of the couple, and not the man alone.

Mrs. Gbedemah said the new spousal law would go a long way to promote peace and harmony in the various homes, which would help ensure a peaceful society. She stressed that if there was no peace in the home,there would not be peace in society, since the home and society work in tandem.
