Kaduna — There was pandemonium at Kaduna office of the African Independent Television (AIT) located at Nagwamatse House on Ahmadu Bello Way yesterday as staff of the organization fled the premises over an abandoned Toyota Camry salon car suspected to be carrying explosives.

Narrating how the whole things started, a cameraman with AIT, Malam Umar Usman, said he came into the office around 9am and heard people running towards the parking lot at the premises while others fled out of the building to a safe place.

"When I got to my office premises, I noticed there was tension; so nosed around where I heard people saying that someone abandoned a vehicle in the premises and that the owner was not known. All the occupants of Nagwamatse House fled their offices for fear of whether the mysterious vehicle suspected to be loaded with a bomb will explode," he said.

Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Usman, confirmed that it was a false alarm, saying the attention of the Bomb Disposal Unit and the combined effort of the police and army who quickly got to the scene since confirmed that the vehicle was not carrying any explosives.
