Johannesburg — AS Zimbabwe prepares for a busy political schedule; ushered in by a referendum on the draft constitution expected in October, elections next year and a national population census that kicks off today - and has already been marred by attempts to control the exercise by the army- it remains business as usual for Zimbabweans living south of the Limpopo River.
Many are unlikely to head back home to help shape the country's future. Authorities from South Africa's Home Affairs Department lifted a moratorium last year on Zimba-bweans living illegally and now require that Zimbabwean nationals regularise their stay in that country and apply for work and study permits.
