Egypt: Sissy - Defending Homeland, Protecting Its National Security Our Sacred Task

Minister of Defense and Military Production and commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces General Abdel-Fattah al-Sissy said defending the homeland and protecting its national security inside and outside are the army's sacred task.

Sissy praised former defense minister Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi and former chief of staff Lt. General Sami Anan, who "set the greatest examples in sacrifice and redemption for the sake of the nation".

Sissy also hailed the role played by the army men in securing the national front and facilities since the outbreak of the January 25 revolution.
