Nigeria: FRSC Deploys 300 Marshals in Adamawa

As part of its effort to ensure a hitch-free EID-el-fitri celebration, the Adamawa Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has deployed 300 marshals to man the roads.

Mr Mohammed Kaigama, the Sector Head of Operations, gave the figure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Yola on Friday.

Kaigama said that the command had also directed all special marshals to report for duty on Sallah day to provide additional strength to regular officers on duty.

"The FRSC in the state is calling all road users to obey road traffic laws for road crash-free Sallah celebration," Kaigama said.

He warned motorists, especially those on long journey and tricycles, KEKE NAPEP drivers, to avoid over speeding, reckless driving and overloading to protect the lives and property of their passengers.

The sector head of operations said that the command would not spare anybody found violating the road traffic rules before, during and after the festivities.

"Please when you are drunk don't drive or answer your cell phone calls for your safety and that of other road users," he said.
