Uganda: Andrew Karokora Appointed New Deputy IGG

Ugandan president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appointed Andrew Munanura Karokora as the new deputy Inspector General of Government.

Museveni has forwarded his name to the Speaker of Parliament Rebbecca Kadaga for parliamentary approval as stipulated in the Constitution.

The president's appointment of the new deputy IGG is as stipulated under article 223(4) of the 1995 Constitution.

If given a nod by Parliament, Karokora will serve as Irene Mulyagonja's deputy. The latter is the current Inspector General of Government.
