When I was an ardent church-goer, I had a soft spot for the Valley Road church. The preachers here seemed to be rather level-headed in terms of how they preached and how they related with their flock. Most of them boasted several degrees, one of which must be theology, while others were actually professors with PhDs to boot.
So, knowledge was in abundance in this church and it was always a pleasure to listen to academicians talking about God and the world. Much of what brought me to this church was the kind of intelligent interpretation of biblical quotes. Nothing looked too difficult for the likes of Pastor Oginde to explain. I remember one time he was asked a question that I regarded as difficult, and he made it look so easy that I really admired the pastor.
