Egyptian Minister of Irrigation Mohamed Baha Al-Din met with his Sudanese counterpart Osama Abdallah in Khartoum to discuss means to boost cooperation between the two countries and between the Nile Basin upstream and downstream nations.

Baha Al-Din said the views of the two countries over the problems of the "framework agreement" on the equitable use of Nile water were unified during the meeting. The agreement is going to be discussed during the September Nile Basin extraordinary meeting.

The two ministers praised the spirit of cooperation from the Ethiopian side over the "renaissance dam" project affirming that Egypt's and Sudan's water quota will never be harmed by the project.
