Nigeria: Flood Kills Two, Destroys Over 1,000 Houses in 12 Local Govt Areas in Bauchi

Bauchi — Two people have been confirmed dead while over 1,000 houses were destroyed by flood in 12 local government areas of Bauchi State.

Six local government areas worst hit by the flood are Jama'are, Shira, Itas Gadau, Kirfi, Gamawa and Zaki.

Others affected by the incident also included Darazo, Misau, Dabam, NIngi, Toro and Dass Local Government Areas .

Permanent Secretary of Bauchi State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Mahmud Garba said the extent of damage on farmlands were terrible, saying some farmlands were completely submerged by the flood.

He said the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), personnel are already in the state to access the situation and offer assistance.
