Nigeria: Kaduna Civil Servants Receive August Salary

Kaduna, Aug. 18, 2012 (NAN) Civil servants in Kaduna State on Friday received their August salaries ahead of the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

The Commissioner for Finanace, Dr John Ayuba, said this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna on Friday. He said the payment followed a directive from Gov. Patrick Yakowa to enable the Muslims to celebrate the Eid-el-Fitr.

"This gesture by the governor is to enable our Muslim brothers and sisters to celebrate the Sallah with their families after the month-long fasting."

Ayuba advised civil servants to contact their financial institutions or banks to obtain their salaries.

The commissioner congratulated the Muslim Ummah for the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, and wished them a happy Sallah celebration.
