Youth wings of both Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Jama'atu Nasir Islam (JNI), Jema'a Local Government chapters in Kaduna state have assured members of the public that they will jointly work for peace and development of the area.
Kafanchan town has been characterized with violence over the years.
Mr. Richard Augustine and Alhaji Musa Salau, secretaries of the two religious youth wing chapters made the pledge at a special Ramadan breakfast on Friday, evening organized by the Nigerian Youth Council at the central mosque Kafanchan.
Both youths promised to ensure a peaceful that sallah celebration. The Chairman of Jema'a Local Government, Comrade Yohana Markus Barde who was represented by his vice, Danjuma Musa described the peace efforts of the youth council and the peace assurance gotten from the youth wings of the two religious bodied as great achievement for the well being and development of the area and the state.
The council chairman promised that his council will partner with any organization on peace initiative, emphasizing that his council will encourage the youth council, JNI and CAN in this regard.
In a goodwill message to the occasion, his royal highness, the emir of Jema'a, Alhaji Mohammadu Isa Mohammadu, who was represented by Shentalin Jama'a applauded JNI, Jema'a Local Government chapter, stressing that it is a religious obligation to live in peace with all and promised his traditional council's support and cooperation.
An Islamic preacher Alh. Musa and the master of ceremony of the programme Mal. Shafiu Jumi commended all organization's that keyed into peace and development.
They advised religious organizations, government and its agencies to stand on the truth on all issues and ensure that trouble makers face the wrath of the law to serve as deterrent and genuine proof of sincerity to end crisis.
Mr. Kimza Abbas Kimza, Chairman Youth Council of Nigeria, Jema'a Local Government branch had in his addressed reminded the people of the good old memories, when Muslims and Christians in the area lived as a family.
He noted that the 2012 Ramadan began on Friday and Sallah falling on Sunday, all special days, indicate something unique for learning, compared with religious tenets, prompted his organization to organize the joint breaking of the fast and search for understanding and peace.
