Rabat — HM King Mohammed VI has addressed congratulations messages to the leaders of Islamic countries on the occasion of Eid al Fitr, which is celebrated in a number of Muslim countries after the fasting holy month of Ramadan.
In his messages, the Sovereign says that "both, in faith and reverence, we invoke the symbolic meaning of this occasion which, once the duty of fasting and abstinence is fulfilled, reminds us of our spiritual values and the quest for the device absolution of bliss."
Eid al Fitr, the monarch says, "represents also the communion and the sentiments of solidarity and fraternity that link the Muslim peoples during the month of Ramadan. It furthermore reflects the duty that falls on the people to remain strongly attached to the ideals of generosity, selflessness, solidarity, moderation and tolerance as preached in our holy religion."
