Zimbabwe: I'm a Bitter Man - Tryson

20 August 2012

TRYSON Chimbetu son of the late musician Naison - who was conspicuous by his absence at the memorial gala of the late Dendera music founder Simon, held at Orange Grove Motel in Chinhoyi last week, is a bitter man. Tryson said he did not intentionally snub the occasion but was deliberately frustrated by the actions of Trevor Jakachira, said to be Suluman Chimbetu's manager, whom he accused of taking the event as a strictly Suluman show and not a family event.

"He wanted to pay me to attend the occasion despite it being a family event. Initially, the whole affair was supposed to be a commemoration in memory of the late Chimbetu brothers, Simon, Naison and Briam but I was shocked to learn that the gala was now commemorating uncle Simon alone," Tryson said.
