Angola Seeking Regain Athens2004 Hegemony

Luanda — The Angolan national athletics wants to recover the dominance in the speed competitions lost in the edition held in Athens, Greece, in 2004 Paralympics Games.

The country is seeking to recover the hegemony from 29 August to 9 September this year in the Paralympics Games in London2012, said the Angolan Paralympics Committee (CPA).

Speaking Tuesday to ANGOP, the CPA president, Leonel da Rocha Pinto, said the careful preparation allows to foresee the achievement of this goal.

Leonel Pinto, who is also the president of the African Paralympic Committee added that the conviction arises in the light of evolution data, provided by the national technical team compared to opponents, in addition to the preparation made with the rigor that is required in high competition.

The Angolan team comprises José Sayovo, Octávio dos Santos, Esperança Gicasso and Maria da Silva (flag carrier).
