Tunisia: Eid El-Fitr - Special Pardon Extended to Six Pupils, 20 Students and Seven Libyans

Tunis — President Moncef Marzouki, on the occasion of Eid el-Fitr, extended a special presidential pardon to 6 pupils and 20 students charged with minor crimes.

The presidential pardon was also granted to 7 Libyan nationals convicted for criminal activities, a communiqué of the Presidency of the Republic adds.

This measure, which allowed the 26 young people to spend the Eid el-Fitr feast with their families, was extended to these youths who had served part of their prison sentence and shown exemplary conduct during their detention, in addition to the fact that they had not had any criminal record.
