Eritrea: Inhabitants of Adal Administrative Area Express Satisfaction With New Micro-Dam

Gogne — The inhabitants of Adal Administrative area, Gogne sub-zone, indicated that Sirdetyay Micro-dam has ensured reliable water supply for livestock.

Among the herdsmen, Suleiman Dawod and Mohammed Idris said that they have been wandering to the rivers of Barka and Gash in search of water for their herds, and that the current water reserve may cover a bulk of the water demand for their herds during winter.

Mr. Idris Hazot, Administrator of Adal Administrative area, explained that effective follow-up would be made to ensure prudent water consumption from the micro-dam.

Pointing out that the micro-dam can reserve more than 38,000 cubic meters, Mr. Musie Bahta from the sub-zonal branch of the Agriculture Ministry called on the inhabitants to practice judicious utilization of the water supply.
