Nigeria: Ocean Surge - One More Body Recovered

Lagos — Barely a week after the Ocean surge that swept away 15 residents of Kuramo Beach in Lagos, the last body of affected people was recovered yesterday.

The body was recovered near Nigerian Navy Dockyard and has been deposited at the mortuary.

Meanwhile, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has reiterated its call for the removal of all wrecked ships on Nigerian coast lines as a precaution against maritime disaster.

The Director of Planning, Research and Forecasting of NEMA, Dr. Charles Agbo made the observation while inspecting the Kuramo beach yesterday in Lagos.

"Federal Government had ordered the removal of all wrecked ships along Nigerian coastal areas," he said.
