Nigeria: NLC - State Police Will Threaten National Unity

Kaduna — The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) is vehemently against the establishment of state police because its being will undermine the unity of Nigeria, its General Secretary Comrade Issa Aremu said in Kaduna yesterday.

"If we allow state police, tomorrow, some people will be asking for state army, Customs, Immigration, Civil defense and all that. These will undermine the corporate existence of Nigeria. The ongoing debate for and against a State Police is uncalled for, unhelpful and diversionary.
