Jebel 'Amer — Two gold seekers killed and another two injured on Sunday August 26 in Jebel 'Amer, El-Sref Beni Hussein Locality North Darfur, when a mine collapsed.

A witness told Radio Dabanga that the mine collapsed on Sunday August 26, while many gold seekers were working inside. The two injured men were taken to the hospital in Saraf Omra for treatment.

The witness added that since the start of the gold excavation last year, more than ten people were killed due to mines collapsing. He ascribed the cause of the repetitive collapses to the deep drilling of sand grounds and the heavy autumn rains.
