ZIMBABWE and Botswana have amended the Customs agreement entered into during the colonial era in an effort to enable uninterrupted and expanded trade between the two countries. According to Statutory Instrument 136 of 2012 published in the Government Gazette on Friday last week, President Mugabe concluded the agreement to amend previous agreements published in Federal Government Notice 156 of 1956 and Statutory Instrument 192 of 1988.
The amended agreement repeals the words "Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland" and "Bechuanaland Protectorate" with Zimbabwe and Botswana respectively.
