Eritrea: Women Citizens Residing in Italy Voice Gratification Over Irrigation Farming in Gash-Barka Region

Tesenei — Women citizens residing in Italy voiced gratification over irrigation farming activities vis-à-vis the agricultural infrastructure laid down in Gash-Barka region. They made the remark during a tour they made in the region.

Reports indicated that the women visited the dams of Gerset, Fanko-Tsimue and Fanko-Rawi, besides BANATOM Banana and Tomato Processing Factory, as well as Warsai-Yikealo School in Sawa. They expressed deep appreciation for the development endeavors being exerted despite the pervasive acts of conspiracy against the nation.

Among the women, Ms. Askalu Goitom, Ms. Elfnesh Asfaha, Ms. Abrehet Yihdego and Ms. Amete Debretsion said that such accomplishments also attest to the prevalence of the norm of work among the people along with the Government's commitment in bridging the development gap between urban and rural areas. The nation could lay the ground for all-round development thanks to the policy of self-reliance, they added.
