Tarime — A PROMINENT Tarime businessman, Mr Christopher Gachuma, has picked and filled forms vying for CCM National Executive Committee (NEC) membership for Tarime District in Mara Region.
Mr Gachuma has been serving as Mara Regional NEC member on the ruling party's ticket for several years.
"Tarime is my home and I have every reason to come and vie for NEC post and serve at home," Mr Gachuma told a press conference shortly after returning his forms at the district CCM office on Monday.
He promised to strengthen economic status of the district CCM office by supporting the establishment of income generating activities. "I have been able to support many districts across the country in the past," he said.
Mr Gachuma cited construction of a multimillion wall fence at the Mara Regional CCM office in Musoma as one of his greatest projects that he funded during his previous leadership. "I spent about 100m/- to finance construction of the fence at the regional CCM office and I am proud of that fence to date", he said.
