Egypt: Lt General Sedqi - Rafah Attack Will Not Go Unpunished

The Armed Forces will not leave the blood of the Rafah martyrs to go in vain and the attackers will not be left unpunished, said Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Sedqi Sobhi.

The terrorists will be punished severely to set an example for anyone who dares to think about harming Armed Forces men, Sobhi said while inspecting troops securing South Sinai on Monday.

The Armed Forces will remain the protective shield of the Egyptian people, he said.

The Armed Forces have fulfilled all their pledges when they handed over power to an elected president, he said, adding that the former leadership of the Armed Forces has undertaken its national duty sincerely and honorably.

The Armed Forces will work jointly with the Interior Ministry to restore security in Sinai while respecting human rights, he said.

The Armed Forces are contributing to plans to develop Sinai, he said.
