The A-1 Construction Tourism & Trading Company has boosted the Kenemmanjane Cricket Club (KCC) by donating a full set of training kits ranging from stumps, bats, balls, glove to other items to the club.
Handing over the items to the club's secretary general, the company director Jane Aspden said it is a great pleasure for them to contribute in their own way towards the development of cricket in the country. She said they are always willing to do their best in promoting the sport, adding that the donation to KCC came as no mistake due to the club's excellent performance during their debut in the Sierra Leone Cricket Association (SLCA)'s female league by finishing third.
"We are willing to help the KCC club to grow. Our donation today is to show how much we appreciate the girls' performance in the league. Despite their failure to lift the championship trophy, they did well and your captain was outstanding to win double awards," Aspden said.
Secretary General of KCC, Emmanuel Pessima, thanked the A-1 Company for such a gesture, which he said will greatly help the team's development in the game as they prepare for the upcoming league in November.
Pessima said: "I must say a big thank you on behalf of the KCC executive to you for this kind gesture. This will not only serve as boost to the female team but also the male squad as we will soon start our training session in earnest for the upcoming league in November."
