Nigeria: 'Miracle ADs,' Multiple Taxation Dominate Lawyers' Summit

Advertisement of 'miraculous healing' claims, false political ads, the multiple taxation imposed on outdoor advertising agencies and other unethical practices dominated discussions at the Nigerian Bar Association's Lawyers in Media forum held on Thursday at the Nicon Luxury hotel in Abuja.

Addressing the forum whose theme is advertising regulation and control in Nigeria, Professor of Constitutional Law, Dakas Dakas (SAN), said there is need to review the way lawyers use websites to acquire the status of Senior Advocate of Nigeria and then close the sites, the issues of wrap around newspaper adverts and political adverts with false information.
