The count down is on. It's now two days to the grand finale of Miss Rwanda 2012 that will take place on Saturday at the Expo Grounds in Gikondo.
Yesterday, we introduced five ladies who were 2nd runners up in all the five provinces of Rwanda, including Kigali city. Today, it gets better as we unveil those who beat them for the 1st runners up positions.
You should know that all the 15 ladies contesting for Miss Rwanda 2012 have numbers that the public can use to vote for titles like Miss Popularity- a crown given to the contestant most liked by the public.
You can check out their numbers on the Miss Rwanda2012 website or you can catch them on most radio stations where they are being interviewed and also soliciting for votes.
The Miss Rwanda Beauty contestants are supposed to be Rwandan by nationality and living in the country, aged between 18 and 24 years old, have a minimum height of 170cm, fluent in Kinyarwanda and English or French.
They should have no criminal record, not married, not pregnant, have completed at least six years of secondary education, and should posses a recommendation letter from their villages where they come from for easy identification.
The organisers for Miss Rwanda 2012 are the Ministry of Sports and Culture in partnership with Mashirika Performing Arts and Media Company Limited. Other partners are Bralirwa, RwandAir, Air Uganda, BRD, BCR, ORINFOR, RDB, Serena Hotel among others.
The theme for this year's beauty pageant is "Beauty with a Purpose -- Unifying the People of Rwanda."
