Tanzanian Joins Germany Side

TANZANIAN footballer Robert Makanja has joined Germany side TUS Ahausen Hessischer FuBall-Verband.

Already the German Football Association (German: Deutscher Fußball-Bund; DFB) has lodged application for Makanja's certificate at the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF). TFF Information Officer, Boniface Wambura said according to the DFB Head of Competitions, Markus Stenger, Makanja has been registered by amateur player.

"DFB said the player had not been registered to any club here in the country, and we need to verify that before issuing his certificate," Wambura said DFB didn't reveal which division TUS Ahausen Hessischer FuBall-Verband, is currently playing in. Makanja adds to the list of Tanzanian players who have sought greener pastures abroad.

Only recently TFF issued ITCs to eight local players to play for clubs in Kenya and Mozambique. The players and their new clubs in bracket are Abdallah Ally Abdallah (CD Madchegde, Mozambique), Almasi Khatib Mkinda (Ferroviario da Beira, Mozambique), David Naftali (Bandari, Kenya) and Hassan Hassan Mustafa (CD Madchegde, Mozambique). Others are Meshack Abel, Thomas Maurice Mohamed Banka (all Bandari, Kenya) and Thobias Davis Silas (CD Madchegde, Mozambique).
